Project Summary

Stanford Health Care is undertaking a major renovation of the Stanford Hospital complex. This project is a complete top-to-bottom, redo of the hospital to reach new modernization standards. The renewal aims to create a more seamless environment with the nearby inpatient hospital building, which opened in 2019. The projects consist of a dedicated cancer center; two new four-story building extensions with 58 private patient rooms; 21 renovated operating and procedure rooms with advanced medical technology; and a redesigned pediatric emergency department.

The renewal will double pre- and post-surgery bays from 36 to 72 bays, create a new 30-bed psychiatry unit, a redesigned atrium, establish single-patient rooms for nearly all patients, and ensure all structures meet California seismic-safety standards.

MGAC provided Technology Program and Project Management for design and construction. We worked closely with Stanford Health Care’s clinical and business leadership and lead a multidisciplinary team in design, implementation, workflow optimization, change management, and issue resolution related to technology deployment on this project.
