Luminis Health, Doctors Community Hospital Campus Expansion

Lanham, Maryland, United States

Project Summary

In 2021, MGAC was engaged by Luminis Health to support multiple efforts on its campus in Lanham, MD. MGAC provided on-site project management services from design and preconstruction through occupancy and activation of the spaces. Working closely with Luminis, MGAC services included consulting during design and preconstruction, cost estimating, permitting over site, project reporting, general contractor management, assistance in achieving diversity goals, and coordination with stakeholders for transition from construction into operations.

The Behavioral Health Pavilion located on the Luminis Health Doctors Community Medical Center (DCMC) campus is a newly renovated facility providing mental health and substance abuse services. The 31,000 SF facility includes outpatient services, a walk-in urgent care, partial hospitalization program, eight-bed residential substance abuse program, and 16-bed inpatient psychiatric unit.

The building consists of four levels, with the two main levels dedicated to patient services, a basement housing utility spaces, and a top level that will allow for a future link to the main hospital. Construction of the facility was built in two phases over a 20-month period.

MGAC continues to support Luminis on additional projects at the Lanham campus.
