Time Warner Cable, National Program

Multiple Locations

Project Summary

MGAC’s relationship with Time Warner Cable (TWC) has evolved from delivering multiple greenfield data centers into a long-term program management partnership. MGAC first began working with TWC to deliver a new 180,000 SF, Tier III data center in Charlotte, NC. The LEED Silver facility was designed and built in record time, following a fast-track 25-month schedule.

Following completion of this facility, TWC called on MGAC again to deliver a second facility in Centennial, CO, which was designed, constructed, and delivered in 25 months. The $114M, 170,000 SF data center hosts applications that support 70 million residential emails and manages the billing records of more than 15 million customers.

With the success of these projects, TWC asked MGAC to develop a strategic infrastructure of critical facilities across the “edge of network” to support service improvements. This would become known as the EDGE Program. In 2014 alone, MGAC delivered 40 projects valued at over $40M, including new builds and live expansions. In 2016, the EDGE Program evolved to over 50 projects worth more than $80M. MGAC developed design standards and consistent processes for all projects—resulting in the build-out or upgrade of over 150 sites to date. Since its inception, these efforts have successfully eliminated over 80% of unplanned service outages and enhanced service offerings.
