Peveril Securities Limited, Centre Severn Last Mile Delivery Station

Gloucester, England

Project Summary

MGAC provided project and cost management services to Amazon Logistics’ Last Mile Delivery Station—one of the first to be delivered in the country. The 122,669 ft2 warehouse facility includes office space, canteens, and a four-storey, 400-space van storage facility with infrastructure for EV charging throughout. The building will seamlessly integrate with Amazon’s final operational fit-out, with specialist parcel conveyors, cages, and dispatch equipment.

Working with traffic consultants early in the process allowed the MGAC team to simulate and analyse the impact on local traffic flow and plan accordingly. The resulting changes included costing, procuring, and project managing road widening, new roundabouts and access roads, traffic signal improvements, and the complete reconfiguration of one street.

MGAC worked closely with Amazon, the developers, and the contractors to manage challenges with materials and labour that arose during the COVID-19 pandemic, including ensuring rapid decisions were made on material changes to support fast-track delivery programmes. As a link between the parties, MGAC was able to facilitate consensus and avoid unnecessary delays or disputes.
