MGAC's Role

MGAC is one of the pre-selected project management firms tasked with providing standardized project management and project controls processes, tools, and techniques for the transformation of various Canada Post locations across the country. MGAC is an extension of the Canada Post Project Management team and has developed a Program Execution Plan which includes a scalable workflow for capturing, organizing, and utilizing lessons learned, and templates for integrated cost and schedule project briefs. MGAC also provides improvement recommendations to current processes including risk mitigation at the program and project level.

Challenges and Success Factors

On large capital programs one of the biggest challenges is integrating schedule, cost, and resources so that we can help our client stay ahead of potential issues at the program and project level. With competing priorities from all the stakeholders, multiple challenges arise. To support Canada Post, MGAC has developed processes and schedules that are linked and can be used to look ahead at potential issues and report at various levels. MGAC has also provided recommendations for contractual enhancements to future current agreements to establish better project controls.
