The building process is complex and comes with common—and not-so-common—challenges. Learn more about what we do as Project Managers in our monthly video series, MGAC on the Move. Each month a different member of our team will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at one of their current projects. Now let’s get moving!

This month, Dave Hicks gives us a tour of the Van Ness Residences in Los Angeles, CA.

Hi. My name’s Dave Hicks and I’m a Project Manager with MGAC. Let’s get moving!

The Van Ness Residence project consists of 12 individual townhouses. Each townhouse has four levels with a rooftop deck. Each townhouse is approximately 2,600 SF in total. We were engaged by Bixby Ridge Gap to provide project management and construction management services. At the time of our appointment, the project had 80% of its steel modular frame installed and the first level of timber framing was complete. We appointed a new general contractor. All the existing completed work was surveyed to confirm its installation was correct. Existing work that was identified as incorrect was swiftly removed and corrected. The Van Ness Residence’s project commenced in January of 2019 and it is due for completion at the conclusion of February 2021.

So I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing what we’re up to here at the Van Ness Residence project. Follow MGAC to see our next move!
