MGAC on the Move: MGAC Los Angeles Office

The building process is complex and comes with common—and not-so-common—challenges. Learn more about what we do as Project Managers in our video series, MGAC on the Move. A different member of our team will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at one of their current projects. Now let’s get moving!

Last month we unveiled our new Downtown Los Angeles office at the iconic AON Center, a LEED-Platinum building. The new space reflects MGAC’s company values of collaboration, innovation, and sustainability, while also symbolizing our commitment to the City of Los Angeles and the West Coast.

MGAC’s Yanet Martínez-Sánchez takes us on a tour of our new LA office designed by SOM, one of the leading architectural design firms in the world. Designed to meet the varied needs of a modern hybrid office plan with 25 percent of seating open for visiting team members or guests, the 7,000 SF space maximizes desk areas while utilizing a moderate footprint with a variety of workstyle options. Sustainability is also at the forefront, with 80 percent of the furniture being upcycled, including sophisticated Mid-Century Modern pieces throughout.

Hi, I'm Yanet Martinez, a project manager with MGAC. I'm standing outside of MGAC's downtown Los Angeles office. Let's get moving.

MGAC's LA office is a 7,000-square-foot tenant improvement, located on the 30th floor of the AON Center, a lead platinum and well-certified building in downtown Los Angeles. The project was designed by SOM and built by HITT Contracting. The reception consists of a gathering area with a lush green wall. Adjacent to it is a pantry and social area. The office is an open plan with a variety of workspaces, including teaming areas, conference rooms, and high tabletops, as well as hotelling desks to accommodate visitors and allow for flexibility of use.

For the main conference room, MGAC opted to move away from the traditional boardroom table and instead go with a spread table to instill equity during meetings. In addition, the building's onsite amenities offer communal lounge spaces, a fitness center, and conference rooms. I hope you've enjoyed seeing what's happening at MGAC LA. Follow us to see MGAC's next move.
