Project Summary

Known for its luxurious accommodations, The Ritz-Carlton has long reigned as the standard for upscale hospitality. In an effort to sustain this reputation, the client embarked on a complete refresh of their exclusive oceanfront hotel on the infamous Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach. MGAC was selected to provide project management services with the goal of enhancing overall customer experience.

From the onset, the project’s budget constraints and need to remain fully operational throughout construction proved challenging. MGAC’s existing relationships with local consultants allowed the project team to form quickly and resulted in 60% local participation. Using local contractors allowed the client to receive a large tax incentive, which was instrumental to the budget.

The renovation included 365 guestrooms and suites; three restaurants, one of which is managed by celebrity chef Eric Ripert; and a 20,000 SF spa and health club. The project also included the addition of new meeting space; a retail boutique; a demonstration kitchen; and 25,000 SF of luxury condominium space. The exterior part of the building required significant facade and roof renovations. All interior spaces now incorporate a soft color palette, natural materials, and ample access to daylight and ocean views.
