I was born in Wales but grew up in Yorkshire, England and moved to the United States after graduating from University. I’ve provided cost and risk consultancy services for over 18 years throughout the United States and several countries. Through my experience over the years, I’ve become an expert in vertical construction and associated horizontal construction.
What differentiates us from other companies is how closely we work with the project managers at MGAC – we’ve become experts in hard construction costs and soft costs. My knowledge includes benchmarking, construction metrics, quantity surveying, estimating, bid analysis, change order reviews, BIM integration with cost, and project controls. In short, I help clients understand the dollars and drivers associated with their projects and how to get the same functions for better value.
The diverse portfolio of our cost and risk team touches cities and people around the world, and I love that we’re at the forefront of projects, often before design. As an industry, we are constantly contributing to the character and landscapes of cities, and it’s exciting to hear about upcoming projects before they are public knowledge.
Helping improve our communities is important to everyone at MGAC. Personally, I volunteer at KEEN DC, an organization that provides recreational opportunities for children and young adults with developmental and physical disabilities. When I’m not working, I’m busy chasing my triplet boys or playing sport.
