The Stead Park Community Recreation Center project consists of an addition to and modernization of the existing historic recreation facility to become the first Net-Zero Recreation Center for The Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR). Located in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC, the new center will foster community relationships and provide recreational programming.
MGAC is providing project management service for the new center that will include multipurpose rooms, senior lounge, teen lounge, demonstration kitchen, classrooms for art and music, outdoor courtyards, bathrooms, and computer lounges in the center. The outdoor improvements include new playgrounds for all ages, a splash pad, plaza entrance, sensory garden, outdoor exercise, basketball court, and a climbing wall. A solar panel canopy will provide shade and energy savings back to the Washington, DC power grid.
