Celebrating twenty years at MGAC in 2020! Over the years I’ve enjoyed the diversity of clients, challenging projects, and extended teams the firm offers. While receiving my undergraduate degree in architecture, I spent summers and my first year out of school as a carpenter building custom homes in Telluride, CO, which gave me an incredible respect for the trades and how to identify quality work. After working as an architect for six years, I switched gears to become a construction project manager for a national developer, while attending a master's program in business management at night. These broad experiences, while working in different fields within the industry, gave me the multi-layered experience I put to use for clients every day.
No project we tackle is ever the same, especially in the cultural sector. We work in an incredibly dynamic environment where we are exposed to the most creative designers utilizing the latest technologies. Our project work requires us to plan and assemble buildings that are completely custom, every time. Seeing clients move into completed projects, and their associated smiles, is so rewarding. Knowing what went into that moment, and getting there, is like standing on top of the mountain to enjoy the view.
At MGAC, we’re positive — and results are always better in a positive environment. Efficiency goes up when people enjoy their work and are motivated to deliver. We’re often thrown into half-complete projects where the team is not functioning and team morale is low. Our positive attitude builds team momentum — and turns projects around to make them successful. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and hiking in the woods with my dog.
