When it came time to upgrade the brand’s popular 144-acre Grand Cayman destination along Seven Mile Beach, owners were challenged with how to make the improvements necessary to uphold their standard of quality between two of their busiest holiday seasons – all while staying fully operational during the process.
We were selected to manage the project and protect the overall customer experience throughout the $9 million renovation of the hotel’s 365 guest rooms and suites. Design was given careful consideration, as most guests are seeking a distinctly Caribbean experience, and we managed the competition to select the right team for the job. Interior spaces have been redesigned to incorporate a soft color palette, natural materials, and plenty of access to daylight and ocean views. The renovation also included the build out of shell space to meeting rooms, retail outlets, luxury suites, and condos, exterior facade and roof renovations, and the hotel’s two signature restaurants. True to our client’s objective, the project was delivered within the aggressive schedule constraints – between the July 4th and Thanksgiving holidays – without interrupting the hotel’s daily operations. The rejuvenated resort now offers the luxury expected of a Ritz-Carlton experience with modern conveniences and a unique Caribbean ambiance.
