Maryland Stadium Authority, 21st Century Schools, Baltimore, MD
MGAC is working with Baltimore City Public Schools (BCPS) through the Maryland Stadium Authority (MSA), who provides funding and technology oversight for the 21st Century School Building Plan initiative, to support the renovation and new construction of elementary, middle, and high schools along with administration buildings.
Our services began in 2017 with updating BCPS’ design standards and Division 27 specification documents used by all technology resources and contractors working on City School projects. MGAC’s objective was to establish new standards for all the new projects being completed under the program. This included evaluating the current design standards, incorporating emerging technologies, and defining a new standard that baselined the differing visions and technical requirements from the various stakeholders. These are being incorporated into the final construction documents for all projects under the 21st Century School Building Plan Program.
MGAC is providing technology project management, owner’s representative services, procurement support, lead technology design, and oversight for the installation of technology spaces, data networks, wireless networks (WiFi and DAS), classroom AV, and structured cabling systems for each school / building. We are working closely with the A&E designers, General Contractors, and Technology implementation partners for all systems in scope. We are also overseeing and managing the commissioning of the various technology systems after installation prior to turnover and acceptance.
