Marriott Columbia, Columbia, SC

Downtown Columbia, SC is in the midst of a renaissance. At the heart of this change sits the recently renovated Marriott Columbia hotel, which has served as a Hampton Street mainstay since 1983. Exactly thirty years since it opened its doors, the hotel celebrated a grand reopening – one driven by a desire to reinvest in the downtown district by attracting a targeted brand of traveler looking to blend work and play.

Our involvement with the project began with the preparation of a $10.2 million estimate to assist our client during Property Improvement Plan (PIP) and budget negotiations with Marriott. Once the plan was in place, we served as project managers for the renovation of the 300-key hotel. The remodeled rooms feature new softgoods and glass showers. Full softgoods and casegoods renovations were made to the club lounge and meeting spaces, and a full renovation of the lobby to the new Marriott Great Room concept elevates the overall guest experience. Exterior renovations, including new paving, replacement of the skylight system, and re-concepting of the entry and porte-cochere, create an inviting and welcoming destination for all visitors. Collectively, these renovations position Marriott Columbia as the top property in the market, providing the finest accommodations, highest number of rooms, and largest meeting space for travelers looking to explore this vibrant city on the rise.
