Since opening their first hotel in 1957, the Marriott family has transformed the hospitality industry while growing their portfolio to include 4,500 properties around the globe. No matter where in the world a traveler ventures, each Marriott hotel strives to uphold the pillars of integrity and service the company represents, while highlighting the unique local flavor their guests are there to experience. In approaching the renovation of their northwest Atlanta property, Marriott achieved just that – blending the quality and comfort their guests have come to expect with the southern hospitality of this vibrant city.
Garrison Investments engaged us in the project to assemble the design and procurement teams for the $16 million renovation, and oversee the process. To extend the warm welcome expected of this capital city, the effort introduced Marriott’s Great Room concept for the renovated lobby, complete with a new restaurant and bar, and reimagined their signature concierge lounge on the 16th floor. The 400 guest rooms, guest bathrooms, and suites were upgraded with new furniture, fixtures, equipment, and finishes, which included replacement of HVAC units and specific accommodations to improve accessibility. The hotel also updated its 16,000 SF of meeting space to serve the modern demands of the many corporations who call Atlanta home. The exterior of the building received fresh paint and a complete roof replacement to put the finishing touches on our client’s vision – and a hotel that combines the best of Marriott and the city of Atlanta.
