Building on the success of their existing portfolio, Hilton Worldwide sought to transition their Lafayette property from a Hilton hotel to the fast-growing DoubleTree flag. The 15-story glass tower on the banks of the Vermillion River had always offered a unique taste of the Cajun culture, but this renovation and rebranding effort presented the perfect opportunity to capitalize on DoubleTree’s attention to detail and the area’s southern hospitality to create the one-of-a-kind guest experience the brand is known for around the world.
We served as project manager for the $12 million transformation, overseeing the complete redesign of the hotel’s lobby and upgrades to its 327 guest rooms. Every single detail – from the new color palette and furniture to the updated outdoor pool and sun deck – highlights the Louisiana lifestyle and the best of what the region has to offer. Paying specific attention to the welcome experience, the renovation also called for the relocation of the front desk as well as a brand new porte-cochere.
For those traveling for business, we also managed the renovation of 18,318 SF of meeting space designed for maximum flexibility – including the Grand Ballroom, which at 9,409 SF is the largest ballroom in the city. Upon its reintroduction to the Lafayette market, the rebranded property is the epitome of everything DoubleTree represents – warm, welcoming, and attentive to the little things that create truly memorable hospitality experiences.
