MGAC provided full development management services to citizenM Hotels as it expanded its presence in the United States. We began the project by performing budget analyses and site studies for multiple locations along the west coast.
As development manager, MGAC worked to establish and manage the development team, while concurrently establishing the overall project budget and schedule. We are also facilitating the complex entitlements, permitting, and approvals process, which requires significant interaction with local government. Following this phase, we will oversee the entire design and construction process.
The completed hotel will be approximately 70,000 SF with 200 guestrooms, in line with citizenM’s operational model and brand standards. The new hotel will also be consistent with the prototype for citizenM’s planned roll-out of multiple new locations throughout the United States.
With the citizenM Project Director located in Amsterdam, MGAC has successfully demonstrated its ability to manage a complex project for a remote client. Key to this success are clear and regular communication, as well as early establishment of project objectives and expectations.
