Since 2006, MGAC has worked with the CBS News Washington Bureau to solve a complicated set of ownership and redevelopment challenges related to their existing property in downtown Washington. CBS has executed a land swap that involves developer Tishman Speyer acquiring and combining the adjacent lot to create 364,000 SF of new office space at 2050 M Street NW.
MGAC is representing CBS throughout the multi-phased construction effort by facilitating agreements over cost and managing the coordination between the new base building and the CBS News space. From this Bureau, a series of live and recorded national and international programs are broadcast, including “Face the Nation” and “60 Minutes.”
Completed in 2019, CBS News now has a state-of-the-art studio enabling it to continue to share the news from Washington to the world, while housed in one of the city’s most distinctive buildings.
