Senior Bid Manager - London, Brighton or Birmingham

It is an exciting time to join MGAC.

We are a global, boutique construction consultancy and our international team is looking for a strategic and results-driven Senior Bid Manager in the UK to help lead our marketing efforts and enhance our brand presence in the industry.

You will ideally have an understanding of the construction industry and proven experience in developing and executing effective marketing campaigns to generate leads, build brand awareness, and drive business growth.

  • Direct experience working in the construction, real estate or property industry within a bid management capacity
  • Creative with relentless attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills and an appetite to "raise the bar"
  • Highly professional and trustworthy with sensitive information and situations
  • Extensive experience developing and managing complex proposals, presentations, and project pursuit processes with detailed knowledge of marketing procedures, work processes and tools, along with evidence of past successful management of marketing projects
  • Adept at managing teams of people with a demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and provide constructive criticism in a team setting and one-on-one
  • Ability to communicate complex information and ideas into effective storytelling through a variety of mediums – oral, written, and graphic (excellent written, editing and proofreading skills go without saying!)
  • A collaborative and team-oriented disposition; excellent interpersonal skills that also show patience; ability to work with both peers and senior members of the firm; general positivity and a genuine care and pride in your work
  • No issues managing your time in a fast-paced environment, completing multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining a sense of humour and grace under pressure at all times

What you'll be doing (and why you'll love it)

  • Lead strategy and proposition development on major bids to ensure the best chance of successful outcomes
  • Plan, manage, and coordinate the preparation of pursuits for both the UK Public and Private Sectors as well as research current and future bid opportunities
  • Identify opportunities and feed into the decision-making process on whether to bid or not bid
  • Devise a successful bid strategy through identification of win themes; themes are clearly articulated at the outset of the bid process
  • Work closely with technical teams to determine strategies on pursuits and proposals; hands on planning and development of strategic customised responses. Contribute to the written proposal – both in terms of content and presentation writing, editing and proof reading technical content as required
  • Participate in pre-interview planning and presentation preparation and helps develop and apply the established win strategy, themes, and differentiators in presentation materials
  • Set key milestones in the tender process for first draft / second draft deadlines for both quality and commercial elements of the tender
  • Manage the bid process through all stages from submission whilst driving continuous improvement through reviews and best practice responses
  • Conduct research and compiles information regarding existing and prospective clients, competitor activity, and industry or market trends to aid in the development of proposals and presentations
