MGAC is thrilled to announce the completion of Under Armour’s (UA) new Global Headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland! This landmark project represents years of dedication and creativity, and we are honored to have played a key role in shaping this exciting new chapter for the UA brand and its community. Designed by Gensler with Whiting-Turner serving as Construction Manager/General Contractor, this groundbreaking facility is one of the most sustainable buildings of its kind, constructed with mass timber and targeting Net-Zero Energy operations.

Under Armour selected MGAC as a strategic partner to work closely with their Corporate Real Estate (CRE) team in managing and overseeing the development of this 280,000 SF, five-story headquarters. At the heart of the campus is a track and field stadium designed by CannonDesign, further enriching the dynamic environment. The headquarters embodies Under Armour’s vision of creating an innovative, sustainable, and accessible space reflective of its global brand. It is designed not only as a hub for cutting-edge product development and technology but also as a welcoming space for the public to connect with the UA story. Achieving this vision required unparalleled coordination and teamwork, particularly in sourcing sustainable materials and systems to support the project’s ambitious green goals.

The headquarters is targeting Net-Zero Energy and LEED® Platinum certification, a rare feat for a project of this scale. Key features include mass timber construction to reduce reliance on traditional steel and concrete, geothermal wells, rainwater harvesting systems, and a solar-powered roof canopy with a massive solar array. Sections of the roof are also covered with green vegetation to further the facility’s extensive eco-friendly initiatives. Inside, the building features cutting-edge audio-visual technology, a performance center for athletes and teammates, and a flagship retail store providing job opportunities for the local community.
