Project: PwC Tampa, Tampa, FL
What if one investment could serve your community and your employees?
When it came time for the world’s largest accounting firm to invest in a new operational headquarters for its 2,000 Tampa employees, they sought partners who could do for them what they do for their clients every day – create the value they were seeking. However, months into the project they weren’t seeing the value, and called on us to replace their national real estate service provider and oversee the ambitious 250,000 SF, 10-story build-to-suit project.
The new building combined numerous local offices into a central location and expanded the company’s tax center – signifying their commitment to building the local Tampa economy, and to addressing the long-term needs and well-being of their staff. The new design was based on staff feedback on how the space could meet their current and future operational needs, and put an emphasis on improving flexibility, collaboration, and client service delivery. We were with them every step of the way, assisting with site analysis, lease negotiation, procurement, and oversight of technology infrastructure that supports advanced media sharing throughout the office.
Our process stayed true to the collaborative mission of the larger project by engaging and coordinating with multiple corporate stakeholders and real estate management experts, local partners and associates, the developer, and the general contractor on a daily basis. Faced with adverse weather conditions, implementation of new glass fronted office standards, and a geographically diverse project team, we delivered this project within budget and on schedule in time to host a national corporate meeting at the new location. In the spirit of creating additional value, we were subsequently awarded the opportunity to project manage an additional 125,000 SF tax advisory office in Washington, DC – establishing a footprint, and jobs, in two of the country’s most vibrant cities.
