Project: Graham Georgetown, Washington, DC

What if you wanted to create a hospitality experience as storied as the neighborhood it represents?

The hoteliers at Independent Collection strive to create distinct boutique lifestyle hotels that represent the people, places, cultures, and traditions of each location where they put down roots. So when they set their sights on an existing Federalist brick building in the historic Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, DC for their next location, they didn’t have to look far for inspiration.

We managed the total gut renovation of this seven-story, 57-room boutique hotel – named after famous Georgetown resident Alexander Graham Bell – including the assembly and oversight of the design and construction teams, budget management, schedule control, and procurement and installation of all FF&E. Guests of the Graham can now enjoy an upgraded lobby living room, elegant guest rooms, spa-like bathrooms, two dining venues, a fitness center, business center, and a new elevator. An energetic rooftop bar provides panoramic views of Washington, DC and serves as the social hub of the building with plush furnishings, high-quality linens, and luxurious bathroom amenities completing the guest experience. Drawing on its namesake’s inventiveness, the resulting hotel offers a unique blend of modern technologies and amenities with the storied charm of its surrounding neighborhood – and adds another authentic travel experience to the Independent Collection’s growing portfolio.
