MGAC managed the construction of a white tablecloth, Zagat-rated restaurant in a building restricted by historic preservation covenants, wood-frame construction, and heavy structural modifications, all while keeping to a tight schedule and budget. Working collaboratively with one of Washington’s top-rated hospitality design teams, MGAC expedited structural modifications that included supporting three stories of historic brickwork above Zola, removing the foundations, and extending the lower level down an additional six feet with new foundations and mechanical systems below. The project features original artwork, and is known as one of Washington DC’s “hot spots.”
