LACMA releases updated renderings

Peter Zumthor and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) released updated renderings for the museum’s new design scheme last month. The revised scheme features a more neutral color palette composed of exposed sand-colored concrete for all internal and external surfaces – moving away from the “black flower” design. The 387,000-SF, $600 million structure is currently the second largest museum construction project in the United States.

MGAC is providing owners representation and project management services for LACMA, which is scheduled to break ground in 2018 and open in 2023.
